Which babyballet class should I book

Our preschool dance syllabus has been carefully designed to ensure each child is taught the principles of ballet and tap at the right developmental level while boosting confidence, and of course having lots of fun.

Our programme fits well within the UK Government’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, with our classes providing the opportunity for babies and young children to learn and develop key life skills in a healthy and safe environment.

When signing your child up for a three-week trial, you will need to ensure they are within the age parameters outlined for each stage. If in doubt, please start in the lower age group to begin with as your teacher will liaise with you should your child need to move up a stage.

After registering, you will be sent an enrolment email full of information that will let you know what to expect. Please allow up to 48 hours to receive this email and double check your junk or spam folder!

Becoming a babyballet member

Following the introductory trial, you will receive an email containing all the details you need to continue with our classes and become a babyballet member. Along with term dates and information about how to make future payments to secure your place, you will be sent an invoice for the remaining weeks in the current term plus your one-off babyballet joining fee. Your little star will receive a Welcome Pack filled with fun and benefits for both you and them to enjoy.

Our fees are £6.80 per class for babyballet tots, £7.25 per class for babyballet tinies and movers £7.50 per class for groovers, payable in half term blocks in advance. Tappers classes are available for movers and groovers starting at £2 per week.
There is no need to sign up via the website again.

Meet the franchisee

Miss Kelly – Franchisee and teacher

Hi, I’m Miss Kelly the franchisee owner of babyballet Colchester. I have been dancing since I was 3 years old and became a dance teaching assistant when I was 13 and haven’t stopped since!
I began my babyballet journey 8 years ago working all over Essex as a teacher and fell in love with babyballet so 3 years ago I took over the Colchester franchisee. I have taught thousands of babyballet stars over the years, it’s the best job in the world! I am extremely passionate about babyballet, teaching not just ballet but confidence, counting, body parts, rhythm, posture and much more. We take part in annual babyballet shows too where we get to dress up and dance on a stage!
I can’t wait to welcome you into the magical world of babyballet classes. If you have any questions feel free to pop me a message!
I’m Miss Lucy and I’ve been dancing since I was three years old, although my family would say I danced as soon as I could walk. My first part-time job at age 14 was as an assistant dance teacher. After studying A-Levels in Dance and in Drama, I then went on to complete a degree in Theatre and Performance Studies, before then doing a PGCE to become a Primary School Teacher where I specialised in Early Years.

I came to babyballet first as a mum, and absolutely fell in love with it; all the magic and fun, and exciting dance memories and milestones we got to share. I loved it so much that I got my dream job teaching at babyballet Colchester in 2014, before stopping to have another pair of tiny dancers of my own. But I’m now back sharing all the sparkle and smiles with more babyballet stars.

For 10 years Adele went on to perform as a dancer in contracts in the uk and across the world. She performed in pantomimes in Chatham and Swansea for qdos entertainment, she was in the Potters Theatre Company at the Potters Leisure Resort in Norfolk for 3 years, she also danced at Butlins Bognor Regis as a member of their new show team and her favourite was working for p&o cruises as a as dance captain for 4 years on board the Oceana and Aurora.

Hello, I’m Miss Kamila. My journey in dance began at the age of 4, when I eagerly stepped into my first dance class. Over the years, I’ve immersed myself in various styles including ballet, ballroom, Latin American, and many others, embracing the diversity of movement and expression each offers.
One of the highlights of my dance career has been representing my home country at international dance festivals and competitions. It’s been an incredible experience to showcase my skills on a global stage and connect with dancers from around the world.
In addition to my dance pursuits, I’ve also dedicated myself to academic excellence, completing my GCSEs and A Levels in Dance. This academic foundation has deepened my understanding of the art form and enhanced my appreciation for its history and theory..
As a member of the Astley Cooper Dance Company, I’ve had the privilege of participating in national-level competitions like the Great British Dance Off. These experiences have challenged me to push my boundaries and grow as a dancer and performer.
Currently, I’m honoured to be a part of the Ballet Competition Team at the University of Essex. It’s a rewarding opportunity to collaborate with fellow dancers and contribute my passion and skills to our collective pursuit of excellence.
My journey in dance has been one of perseverance, growth, and self-discovery. Through every pirouette, leap, and performance, I’ve learned more about myself and the power of artistic expression. I’m excited to continue exploring the boundless possibilities of dance and sharing my love for this beautiful art form with others.

“Elsa-May has been attending babyballet since she was 18 months old and has just a few classes left until she leaves to go to “big school”. She has absolutely loved babyballet and Miss Kelly has been a brilliant teacher.
