Celebrating 10 Years of Sparkle with Miss Lauren! babyballet Biggleswade and Bedford are turning TEN!

This weekend we’re sending cheers and cuddles to the one and only Miss Lauren, as she celebrates a decade since opening the doors to babyballet Biggleswade and Bedford

10 years ago, Lauren took a leap of faith that would shape the future for herself, her family, and thousands of babyballet® stars. A new mum at a crossroads in her career, she was deciding between returning to the West End or exploring a new chapter that allowed her to be there for her little boy, Alfie.

Thanks to a timely recommendation from a friend (and fellow babyballet franchisee), Lauren discovered babyballet® – and as soon as she stepped into our studios in Halifax, she knew she had found her calling. She fell in love with the “business in a box” concept and the feeling of being part of something truly special – a franchise and a family.

From that moment, Lauren dived in headfirst with her signature energy, warmth, and infectious smile. At her very first babyballet conference, despite not knowing many people, she completely lit up the room. In true Lauren style, she introduced herself by saying loudly (and proudly!) “It’s because I’m new!”. So often in fact, that it became a running joke! For years to follow, Lauren lovingly carried the nickname: “I’m new, you know!”

Well, it’s safe to say she’s not new anymore. In fact, she’s a shining example of what it means to be a brilliant babyballet franchisee

Over the past 10 years, Lauren has built something extraordinary – not just a successful business, but a cherished community. She has welcomed thousands of children through her doors, creating a safe, joyful space where imagination and confidence bloom. From tiny tots to graceful ballerinas, Lauren has proudly watched her little stars grow. Their love for babyballet a reflection of her own.

And at the heart of her journey is her beloved son, Alfie.

Whether he was performing in babyballet shows, helping behind the scenes, posing in photoshoots, or listening in on mummy’s meetings, he has always been Lauren’s biggest supporter and her greatest motivation. Their bond is beautiful, unshakable, and it’s no exaggeration to say that Alfie has helped shape babyballet Biggleswade and Bedford just as much as Lauren has.

Lauren has also nurtured a wonderful team of teachers who she has trained, supported and championed every step of the way. Pyjama and pizza parties spring to mind as Lauren has welcomed her teachers into her home and gone the extra mile to ensure they always feel valued. A special mention goes to her right-hand woman and soul-sister figure, Miss Lucy, who later joined Lauren as a co-franchisee of babyballet Stevenage and Hitchin. Together, they make a dynamic duo, bringing even more sparkle to the local community. babyballet Biggleswade and Bedford 10th babyballet anniversary - Lauren and Lucy

One of Lauren’s proudest milestones was putting on her first babyballet show in 2018 and of course, Alfie stole the spotlight by taking part! Since then, she’s produced 6 spectacular shows, with her 7th coming up this year. Despite a brief pause in 2020 due to Covid, her shows have continued to bring joy and magic to dancers and their families.

And let’s not forget Lauren’s incredible business achievements. Her success has been officially recognised time and time again with a host of awards and accolades:

Lauren is also a fundraising powerhouse. From national campaigns like Children’s Activities Week (including a very special visit from CBeebies’ Sid Sloane in 2018!) to local fundraising, she has always supported important causes. Most recently, she raised a staggering £16,500 for Tommy’s, making a huge difference to families across the UK.

Most of all, Lauren has always stayed grounded in why she does what she does. She says the best part of being a babyballet franchisee is being part of an amazing family and watching the children she teaches grow and shine. In her own words:

“babyballet holds a special place in my heart, and I’m so thankful I embarked on this journey 10 years ago. I never imagined I’d be celebrating a whole decade!”

Well Lauren, we’re so glad you did!  Your dedication, passion, kindness and spark have not only made your franchise a success, but they’ve made a difference. You’ve inspired your team, empowered your customers, supported your community, and shared the magic of babyballet with so many.
