Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel….

babyballet has a new angel, in the shape of new franchisee Betty Lyons.

Betty, who lives in Bramhall, Stockport, is a member of girl band, The Angelettes. The trio are a Motown Tribute Show who perform at clubs, holiday parks, private parties and weddings.

Betty even sang at her own wedding, to Rob Lyons, a Manchester solicitor, earlier this year.

But it’s her feet she hopes will be doing the talking when she opens a branch of babyballet in Bramhall and surrounding areas.

Betty has an impressive dance CV. She was just two when she started ballet and went on to do the associates Programme with the Royal Ballet School. She then got a scholarship to Bird College, Sidcup, Kent where she did a three year diploma in dance, music and theatre performance.

A stint on cruise ships followed before she returned home and decided teaching dance was what she wanted to do. She obtained a First Class (Hons) degree from The Open University in dance teaching and the past four years has taught dance at various schools in the Stockport and Cheshire areas.

It was an 18-month-spell teaching at a babyballet academy that made her realise that was where her heart was, so she has become a franchisee, and on September 3rd opens her doors at two venues in Bramhall.

“It’s been a crazy year. First organising a wedding and now starting my first business, but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it so far and can’t wait to welcome youngsters through my doors”, says Betty who’s hobbies include running and yoga.

“I love teaching and children, and feel the time is right to be my own boss. babyballet is a fantastic company to be part of. It’s got a great reputation and helps youngsters both in physical development and in gaining confidence .”
