Our Trach Vented babyballet® Ballerina: Ellie’s Incredible Journey
Our Trach vented baby ballerina. Ellie was born at 23 weeks, a micro premmie! She had many scary times, lots of surgeries & 487 days in hospital from birth until she could come home with her tracheostomy and ventilator. She requires this 24 hours a day as well as oxygen, lots of meds & medical support.

I always knew it wasn’t going to stop us living life, but did I ever think in my wildest dreams that my 444g baby girl would be at baby ballet in her tutu? Never!
Not only that but mixing with other children, learning to move parts of her body that our delayed due to prematurity or learning to move so well that she learnt to crawl in the first half term we attended!!
A total pinch me moment. Progress I have prayed for.

From the moment we arrived at our first class, I knew it was a safe space.
I looked at her nurse who accompanies us, and we both just knew. This was the place for Ellie to thrive. Her teacher, the other parents, the children, it is such a happy, non judgemental and positive group.
Never once did Ellie’s tubes, trach or vent become an issue, & never once was it ever questioned if could she do anything, she just could join in, like any other child! 😭
This isn’t just a hobby or a baby class to us, this is a huge milestone that Ellie made it and is getting to live her best ballerina life 🩰✨
