She’s danced on stage with stars like Little Mix and Sinitta and appeared in films and professional pantomimes.
Now singer, dancer and actress Jessica Smith is to take her own leading role – running her own babyballet dance school.
The 26-year-old is setting up a babyballet business in Bognor Regis this month (February) and it’s the start of an exciting 12 months for her as she is getting married in July.

Jessica was born in London but spent her early years living in Kent and then Bognor Regis. She took up ballet at the age of four and sang in a church choir with her two sisters until she was 16. After leaving school she gained a place at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts School in Surrey and studied dance, music, theatre and drama.

She then worked on cruise liners and travelled the world, following that she worked as a dancer in five star hotels, at corporate events and pop concerts and in films and pantomimes. In 2013 she saw an advert for a dance teacher for a babyballet Chichester and spent 18 months teaching there. She also spent time teaching at other schools in the area and realised her future was in teaching.

“I get so much enjoyment out of teaching and can’t wait to start my own dance school. It will be the first babyballet school in the area,” I am starting with 10 classes, my plan is to expand into other areas in the not too distance future and employ a small team of trained teachers,“ says Jessica.

Her classes start on February 23 at St Mary’s Centre, Felpham, and she has an opening offer of £15 for a three week trial.
