Hi! I’m Miss Claire and I’m delighted to bring the magic of babyballet dance classes to the children of Bournemouth and Poole.

How to book a babyballet class:

Our babyballet class timetable is listed below, where you can book a three-week introductory trial for just £25.

The trial is the perfect introduction to babyballet, giving you and your child the chance to try out our ballet classes before signing up to a full term. Where spaces are available, the babyballet trial can start at any time during a term. Upon completion of the trial, you will be invoiced for the remaining sessions.

Please see our class timetable below. Click on the dropdown for the appropriate age group to book a class:

Tots: 6 - 18 months

This is a ballet and sensory play class suitable for children aged 6 - 18 months. Your little one does not need to be walking but good head control is essential.

Tinies: 18m - 3 years

This is a ballet class suitable for children aged 18 months - 3 years and the main carer fully participates in the class with their dancing star.

Tappers: 3 years+

This is an additional tap dancing class suitable for children aged 3+ years that are enrolled in Movers & Groovers.

Movers: 3 & 4 years

This is a ballet class suitable for children aged 3-4.5 years. Parents sit and watch (may be invited to leave the room in some areas - franchise dependent) so that the dancing star can be encouraged to be more independent.

Groovers: 4.5 - 6 years

This is a ballet class suitable for children in Reception and Year 1. We kindly ask that parents wait outside the room so that their dancing star can be encouraged to be more independent.

Shine: SEND specific class

babyballet Shine classes are specifically for our little stars with special educational needs and disabilities and open to all ages. Please get in touch with us to find out more.

Which babyballet class should I book

Our preschool dance syllabus has been carefully designed to ensure each child is taught the principles of ballet and tap at the right developmental level while boosting confidence, and of course having lots of fun.

Our programme fits well within the UK Government’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, with our classes providing the opportunity for babies and young children to learn and develop key life skills in a healthy and safe environment.

When signing your child up for a three-week trial, you will need to ensure they are within the age parameters outlined for each stage. If in doubt, please start in the lower age group to begin with as your teacher will liaise with you should your child need to move up a stage.

After registering, you will be sent an enrolment email full of information that will let you know what to expect. Please allow up to 48 hours to receive this email and double check your junk or spam folder!

Becoming a babyballet member

Following the introductory trial, you will receive an email containing all the details you need to continue with our classes and become a babyballet member. Along with term dates and information about how to make future payments to secure your place, you will be sent an invoice for the remaining weeks in the current term plus your one-off babyballet joining fee. Your little star will receive a Welcome Pack filled with fun and benefits for both you and them to enjoy.

Our fees are £9 per class for babyballet tots, tinies, movers and groovers, payable in half term blocks in advance. Tappers classes are available for movers and groovers starting at £4 per week. There is no need to sign up via the website again.

Our babyballet preschool dance programme offers four stages of ballet classes, for young children aged 6 months to 6 years, plus a tap dancing class for children over 3 years. Taught by thousands of dance teachers across the world, the babyballet syllabus has been carefully developed by dance professionals to introduce your child to the magic of dance, whilst creating precious moments between you and your little star. What to wear to class

At babyballet, our uniform is not compulsory, but we do have a beautiful bespoke uniform range for our little stars that can be browsed on our online shop.

For your trial, please put your child in something comfortable that allows them to move freely. They will be required to dance in either ballet shoes or bare feet. You can find out more information about what to wear in class here. Or please click here to go back to our timetable.

I started up babyballet® Bournemouth and Poole in January 2012.
With a background in dancing and acting, I felt it was a natural progression to move into teaching and pass on my knowledge to the children of Bournemouth and Poole (My hometown).
I began dancing at the tender age of 3, here in Bournemouth! I loved it so much that I never gave up. At 18 years old, I was accepted into the Prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts where I completed a 3 year course in performing arts. After graduating, I was lucky enough to travel the world dancing on cruise ships and in cabarets and pantomimes. A keen actress, I also performed in many plays which took me to many interesting places around the U.K and the World.
The Bournemouth and Poole franchise now also runs classes in Christchurch and as far as Lymington. With classes held Monday through to Saturday at 15 venue’s the team and I are proud to teach over 350 students each and every week.
I am thrilled to be the franchisee for Bournemouth and Poole and am extremely grateful to my family and friends for their continued support!

Miss Alex started dancing at the age of 7 at a local dance school in Dorset, where she completed her BTDA Modern, Tap, Acro examinations and RAD Ballet examinations. At 16 she left school and went on to study a BTEC Performing Arts course studying Dance, singing and drama at Brockenhurst college. She then at 17 left Dorset to further her training at Reynolds Performing Arts stage school in Kent . After a successful 3 years Alex graduated and started her first professional dancing job with Costa Cruise Lines as a Production Dancer. In between her 6 contracts with Costa Cruise Lines she performed in a touring showgirl show with Presumed Incocents Dance Company, and one of her favourite contracts dancing in a Casino Cabaret Show with the Russian Dance company Onde Cruz.

Finally returning home in November 2013 she started teaching for local dance schools. Also completing her Acrobatic Arts training course, Miss Alex has a huge passion for teaching and watching students grow into stunning performers.

.Miss Kate started dancing in Poole and loved it so much she went on to Bird College for 3 years graduating with a degree in Dance and Theatre Performance.

She danced professionally for 8 years in a range of shows on cruise ships, at Butlins, Pantomimes, The Isle of Wight Festival and touring the U.K. In between contracts Miss Kate came home and taught ballet, modern and tap at local dancing school.

Miss Holly – Teacher

Miss Holly started dancing at the tender age of 2 locally in Bournemouth. Showing a fantastic natural ability at a young age she was fortunate enough to win a place at the prestigious Royal Ballet School. Where she learnt from the best for 4 years. She followed her training at Laine Theatre Arts in London.

Miss Holly danced professionally for 9 years travelling around the world performing in many shows including The Royal Variety Show in Edinburgh, Pirates Adventure in Mallorca, Casino Estoril in Portugal, Backing Dancer in Greece and worked with P&O Cruise Ships as Dance Captain. Ballet dancing has always had a special place in her heart!

She is thrilled to be working as part of the babyballet® team. 

.Miss Libby started dancing at the age of three years old at a local dance school, where she achieved all of her RAD Ballet exams and was given multiple performing opportunities. Following a Sixth Form Btec course in Performing Arts at Leaf Studio School in Bournemouth, she then went on to continue her training and gain a BA Hons Degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre at the prestigious Bird College, located in Sidcup, Kent.
Miss Libby has always enjoyed to dance and perform and has successfully auditioned and performed in professional pantomimes locally.

Miss Becky is a babyballet® mummy with 3 children and have loved going on the babyballet® journey from tinies to groovers with her little ones. Her youngest children still attend babyballet® so she knows first hand what it’s like to be a babyballet® parent! She danced as a child and has previously run her own business so working in the babyballet® office is a perfect fit and she thoroughly enjoys being part of the lovely sparkly team. She is always here to answer any question’s you might have and to keep the business running smoothly.

But thanks to Miss Holly’s kind, patient and extremely caring nature she has created an environment where my daughter now feels comfortable and happy, and joins in enthusiastically.
