Which babyballet class should I book

Our preschool dance syllabus has been carefully designed to ensure each child is taught the principles of ballet and tap at the right developmental level while boosting confidence, and of course having lots of fun.

Our programme fits well within the UK Government’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, with our classes providing the opportunity for babies and young children to learn and develop key life skills in a healthy and safe environment.

When signing your child up for a three-week trial, you will need to ensure they are within the age parameters outlined for each stage. If in doubt, please start in the lower age group to begin with as your teacher will liaise with you should your child need to move up a stage.

After registering, you will be sent an enrolment email full of information that will let you know what to expect. Please allow up to 48 hours to receive this email and double check your junk or spam folder!

Becoming a babyballet member

Following the introductory trial, you will receive an email containing all the details you need to continue with our classes and become a babyballet member. Along with term dates and information about how to make future payments to secure your place, you will be sent an invoice for the remaining weeks in the current term plus your one-off babyballet joining fee. Your little star will receive a Welcome Pack filled with fun and benefits for both you and them to enjoy.

Our fees are £6.25 per class for babyballet tots, tinies and movers. £6.75 for babyballet groovers class, payable in half term blocks in advance. Tappers classes are available for movers and groovers starting at £2.25 per week. There is no need to sign up via the website again.

Meet the franchisee and teacher

Miss Becky

Miss Becky - babyballet Halifax

Miss Becky trained at the well-respected Dorothy Stevens School of Dance in Lightcliffe, from the age of 3 to 18. It was there where her love for dance and dance teaching was born, and Miss Becky feels incredibly lucky to have taught alongside Mrs Stevens during her last two years at the school.

Having lived abroad in Spain and later France, for several months whilst completing her degree, Miss Becky continued to take classes in ballet, tap and modern dance. Upon her return to Halifax, she was certain that she wanted to open her own dance school.

After teaching for babyballet® for a year, Miss Becky was delighted to become the franchise owner for babyballet® Halifax.

“Dance is one of the best parts of my life and I can’t remember a time where I haven’t danced! I am always excited to share my love of dance with the younger generation through the joy and sparkles of babyballet®!”

Meet the teacher

Miss Abi

Miss Abi trained at the prestigious Dorothy Stevens School of Dance from age 5 to 16, being taught by Miss Dorothy Stevens MBE. Here she developed a life-long love of dance.

Miss Abi then went on to train at The Hammond School in Chester, before returning home to assist Miss Stevens teaching ballet classes.

By day Miss Abi is a lawyer. However, she is excited to return to her roots and welcome the next generation of budding ballerinas to the wonderful world of babyballet!

Meet the teacher

Miss Alaina

Miss Alaina started dancing at the age of 5, she studied various styles throughout her childhood including tap, jazz and contemporary but ballet was always her favourite.

Miss Alaina trained in RAD ballet as a child from the ages of 5-16 at the Dorothy Stevens School of Dance in Lightcliffe, and that was where her love and passion for dance was born! She then went on to study Dance as a GCSE at school and has performed in various shows, and even continued her love for dance at university- where Miss Alaina became part of the Leeds Beckett Dance Club alongside her studies.

Miss Alaina has a large amount of experience working with children, having worked in a primary school setting for over 6 years and obtaining a level 3 certification in childcare Miss Alaina cannot wait to bring the magic and joy of dance to the next generation.

“From becoming a new mum, I’ve learnt that babies and pre-school children learn through physical and sensory experiences. I want to be able to pass on my love and passion for ballet and dance and help children learn, explore, and grow as individuals. I am so excited to be becoming a new member of the team and looking forward to dancing with all you little babyballet stars!”

Meet the teacher

Miss Louisa

Miss Louisa began dancing at the age of 3. She started her dance journey at the Walsh school of dance in Leeds, where she did ballet and tap. At the age of 8 Miss Louisa moved to the Deborah Coultish dance school. It was there that Miss Louisa discovered and fell in love with modern and street dance.

Miss Louisa has competed both locally and nationally, and still does with her current dance school Phoenix. Miss Louisa has a passion for all things ‘dance’ and jumped at the opportunity to share this with the next generation of dancers by becoming part of the babyballet community.

“Ever since my daugter Bunnie was born, all my dreams came true. I could not wait for her to start ballet at babyballet and from her very first class we were both mesmerised by the magic and ethos of the dance school.”
