Happy St. David’s Day to all our babyballet stars!

Happy St. David’s Day to all our babyballet stars! Spring is coming!

Today is all about celebrating a Welsh legend, called St David – who even though he was from the 6th century – his good deeds and good nature, saw him become the patron Saint of Wales.  We celebrate this special day throughout Wales, the British Isles and across the World on 1st March every year – which is also a symbol of Spring, new life and new beginnings!

Here are some fab babyballet facts about Wales, the beautiful singing country of the U.K & World.

Some Welsh heroes in the Arts world are the fabulous voices of Katherine Jenkins – the Mezzo Soprano! Tom Jones, the iconic voice of The Valleys, and not forgetting a Bond classic voice – Shirley Bassey too!

There is another legend we all know, we have all read his books, seen the films and the latest musicals too – the one and only literary genius – Roald Dahl – one of the most famous and influential writers of our time.  Be it The BFG, to Matilda – he has given all of us babyballet stars the delight of magic in our world.  What are your favourite Roald Dahl stories, there are so many to choose from – but we all have a favourite.

Ballet Cymru – Ballet Wales

There are also some very talented Ballet stars, at the Ballet Wales (Balley Cymru) – who have something rather special coming to the ballet stage in Wales (rest of UK to follow) – and that is a performance of Rohald Dahl’s ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ – which is truly magical and enchanting performance by the Ballet Wales team – that is a pure delight for our babyballet stars to go and see.

Celebrating all our babyballet stars in Wales!

Let’s Wear Yellow!

A way we can all celebrate this special day, is to try and do good deed for someone – this was why St David became a Saint, because he wanted to do good for everyone who needed it.  The national symbols for Wales are  the Daffodil – and also the Leek – and the colour that people like to wear on this day is Yellow – as it is a symbol of new beginnings, Springtime and hope.

Let’s see if we can wear yellow on this special day or any day this week and share some hope and good deeds in our babyballet communities.
