The snow won’t stop us! babyballet live from your living room!

As adverse weather conditions hit the UK, families with young children are forced to remain indoors to stay safe and warm. Keeping young children occupied, with something to do on a snow day, can be difficult, tiring and even stressful for those mummies and daddies who are bored of looking at the same four walls.

DESPAIR NO MORE!

A group of inspiring babyballet franchisees and teachers have decided to lend a helping hand to the parents, carers and guardians of the UK by creating endless hours of dancing fun. The first …

‘babyballet live in your living room’

… was recorded by Miss Leanne, owner of babyballet West Lothian, Falkirk and Stirling.

The idea derived from the fact that the terrible snow, especially in Scotland, meant that the pre-school dance classes had to be cancelled last week and Miss Leanne wanted to make sure no-one missed out. She decided to give the children the chance to dance along and have fun, just like they would have done in their usual babyballet class, by recording a ‘make-shift’ class in her own home!

Furniture was cleared and a camera was propped up in Miss Leanne’s home office, ready for her to film herself teaching the award-winning babyballet syllabus – just as she would to the babies, tots, toddlers, pre-schoolers and young children who join her at various dance studios and venues every week.

The Facebook video that was recorded live on Thursday 1st March had an insane reach and Miss Leanne was delighted that so many babyballet stars and their grown ups, tuned in to dance at home.

Since the first babyballet live in your living room video, more babyballet franchisees have joined in the fun. Each scene is set up in the comfort of the dance teachers home and lovingly addresses babyballet stars watching and practising at the other side of the screen.

babyballet® dance classes allow babies, toddlers and young children to enjoy the physical and social benefits of ballet, song and dance in a safe, caring, positive and informal environment. With a real focus on learning through play, the unique, multi award winning babyballet® syllabus offers four key stages of ballet and tap classes. The babyballet® brand has captured the imagination of both young children and their parents, who enjoy the freedom and magic of the classes.

Classes are for children from 6 months to school age.  From 6 months the class is a very gentle introduction to the class environment. Using a combination of music, movement and props, the class is a musical sensory experience for grown-ups and their babies to enjoy together. As the syllabus progresses the children in Tinies (18 months to 3 years) are encouraged to develop their movement and communication skills on their own but still with their grown-up close by. The basics of ballet are introduced through bespoke babyballet® songs, classic nursery rhymes, imaginative stories and musical instruments. As the children progress to babyballet® Movers at the age of 3, they’re sure to be hopping, skipping and jumping to the fantastic babyballet® songs independently. There is also a Groovers class for 4 to 6 year olds who have reached school age and the ever popular Tappers class can be attended from the age of 3.

If you would like to see how you and your little star would enjoy the classes, we offer a three week trial. Click here to find your nearest class!
