From Babyballet® Star to Royal Ballet Junior Associate
At babyballet®, we believe every child deserves the chance to dance, dream and shine in their own special way. Today, we’re so proud to share the incredible story of one of our very own babyballet® stars, Jude, whose journey began in our babyballet® Bradford classes and has now led him all the way to the prestigious Royal Ballet Junior Associates programme.
Babyballet® Beginning
Jude first joined babyballet® Bradford when he was just 6 months old. From those first tiny tiptoes, he danced his way through our programme, growing in confidence, skill and joy right up until our Movers classes.
Growing with Dance
In September 2021, at just 4 and a half years old, Jude joined his local dance school, CC Dance, where he began ballet, tap and jazz. His passion for dance shone through from the very beginning, and by January 2022, he was already invited to join their competition team, a huge achievement for such a young dancer.
Royal Opportunity
During the February half term of 2022, Jude had the amazing opportunity to attend a Royal Ballet Insight Day. Inspired by the experience, his family registered him for an audition, which took place over Easter that same year.
Then, in June 2025, came the exciting news: out of what is believed to have been over 200–300 auditionees, Jude was awarded a place on the Royal Ballet Leeds Junior Associates programme, starting in September 2025. With only around 10–20 places available each year, this is an extraordinary achievement for such a dedicated young dancer.
Star in the Making
From his very first babyballet® class to stepping into the studios of the Royal Ballet, Jude’s journey is a shining example of what can happen when children are encouraged to follow their passion.
We are beyond proud to have been part of the very beginning of his dance story, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. From tutus and teddies at babyballet® to competitions, stages and Royal Ballet studios, Jude is proof that every tiny dancer has the potential to sparkle in their own unique way.
